BEIJING, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- President Xi Jinping returned to Beijing Thursday afternoon after his visit to Switzerland.
Xi paid a state visit to Switzerland, attended the 2017 annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos and visited international organizations based in Switzerland, from Sunday to Wednesday.
The president's entourage returned to Beijing with him, including his wife Peng Liyuan; Wang Huning, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Policy Research Office of the CPC Central Committee; Li Zhanshu, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee; and State Councilor Yang Jiechi.
Xi left Geneva for Beijing on Wednesday local time. He was seen off at the airport by Vice President of the Federal Council of Switzerland and Head of Federal Department of Home Affairs Alain Berset, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer, President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach, Director-General of the World Health Organization Margaret Chan, and Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva Michael Moller.
